This beautiful ammonite displays an array of colors caused by microscopic aragonite inclusions in the fossil. Ammonites, an extinct species most resembles the nautilus, but is actually closely related to the modern day octopus or squid. Though ammonite fossil are quite prevalent, larger, quality iridescent examples such as this one can be difficult to find from time to time. Be sure to check out the video!
