A collaboration between Summit’s Steps Minerals and Kansas City artist Genevieve Flynn. A maple seed pendant with a stunning 1.85 carat Australian black opal set into an 18 karat yellow gold bezel. The maple seed was made from fine silver with the keum-boo metals process. A thin sheet of 24 karat yellow gold has been fused to the surface of the maple seed. The maple seeds were formed with a metals technique called repousse, this pushes the metal forward or to the back, and creates a dimensionality in the metal. A cold forged wire of 18 karat yellow gold has been placed at the top of the opal, it has a gold bail in the back allowing the wearer to slide a chain through. This pendant comes accompanied with a 18” 14 karat gold chain.
